IRC Portal - Chinese Character Display and Search

This major enhancement to the IRC Search System will benefit staff and students who need to make use of the Chinese volumes available in the IRC.

Phase One of this project will incorporate the feature to allow Chinese characters (eg. Title, and Author) to be displayed in several applications used in IRC. These applications include the IRC Loan System, IRC Search, Overdue Email and New Additions. Phase Two of this project will incorporate the functionality to search the IRC database using Chinese character input in the IRC Search application.

ISO 9001 Compliant for SDE ITU

Being awarded ISO 9001 certification since 04 October 1999, NUS Computer Centre would like to extend the continued satisfactory operation of the Quality Management System to the faculties IT units. SDE ITU is gearing up to prepare for the external audit scheduled in 2009, putting all the required documentation in place and streamlining certain work processes for more efficiency and quality.

One of the changes requires implementing new change request tracking system (known as Request Tracker) which will impact the current work flow of the faculty administrative users raising change requests to SDE ITU. Request Tracker will be introduced to the faculty administrative users in Sep 2008 and the planned rollout for phase 1 of the Request Tracker is in Oct 2008.
